Charity bike ride
Fundraising to make a difference
06/11/2009
Simon Standing recently volunteered to take part in the London to Cambridge charity bike ride for Cambridgeshire Mencap.
After a 6am start on Sunday 22 July, it took Simon 3 ½ hours to complete the 60 mile trip.
Wearing a Cambridgeshire Mencap t-shirt, Simon rode onto Midsummer Common in Cambridge looking a little weary but pleased to have finished!
Through generous donations from friends, family and work colleagues Simon has managed to raise a fantastic £350.
I am a keen cyclist and taking part in the London to Cambridge ride was a chance to raise money for Cambridgeshire Mencap. It’s great to think that with a bit of effort, the money raised will be used to support one of the many services Cambridgeshire Mencap offers.
If Simon’s efforts have inspired you, there are loads of ways you can get involved in fundraising for Cambridgeshire Mencap. If this is something you would like to do then get in touch with us at fundraising@cambridgeshiremencap.co.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
